Clapton & Co. is a band of experienced musicians playing the very diverse music of Eric Clapton.
Much of Clapton’s best known work as a solo artist is covered, including Layla, Cocaine, Tell the Truth, Anyday, Keep On Growing, After Midnight, Can’t Find My Way Home, I Shot the Sheriff, Pretending, as well as rock numbers from his time with supergroup Cream, including Badge, Crossroads, White Room, Sunshine of Your Love, and While My Guitar Gently Weeps.
We also visit his blues side for which he is just as well if not better known, covering numbers such as Have You Ever Loved a Woman, All Your Love, Hoochie Coochie Man, Double Trouble, Key to the Highway, Little Queen of Spades, Everything Gonna Be Alright, The Thrill Is Gone. For this music, the guitar combined with the Hammond organ/Rhodes piano sound comes to the fore.
The “& Co.” part of the name refers to the fact that we also play a few numbers by another artist – Gary Moore, including Parisienne Walkways and Still Got the Blues for You.
Clapton & Co. plays a lot in the south east, including many times in Brighton and Hove at The Ranelagh and The Neptune. Last year, we played as a Gary Moore tribute band at The Ranelagh as part of the Gathering for Gary commemorative weekend.
We have also played as a Clapton band at tribute dinner evenings, festivals and at well known venues such as Mr Kyps in Poole where we have supported veteran blues band The Producers and rocker Larry Miller, covering music by Gary Moore, Joe Bonamassa and Cream.
