Brimming with energy and a raw edge, catchy hooks, and tight grooves, with a raw Maceo like sax and soulful lead vocals.The band evokes the spirit of late 60s soul and early 70s funk whilst also focusing on strong and expressive songwriting and their choice of covers are always heavy on the funk and rotated regularly. 2016 saw them mentored by James Brown's MD and Trombonist,Fred Wesley, who also guested on their last 45 'Yard Of Hard'.The band will be teaming up with Fred later in the year for a return match plus some live shows with him.
The band are renowned for dynamic, engaging live performances and getting the crowd totally involved too. The band have drawn accolades from their musical peers and have shared the stage and been championed by the likes of Osaka Monaurail,Stax's Steve Cropper ,The New Mastersounds,Carleen Anderson and master percussionist Snowboy.The Soul Immigrants released their new album ‘Back From The Brink' on Lateralize Records worldwide in November 2019 on vinyl and have great reviews, here is a few.
